** Functional anatomy of respiratory system…[Physiology]

Functionally the system consists of two zones: * Conducting zone or conducting air tubes,  & Respiratory zone..{the actual site of gas exchange,  & composed of, respiratory bronchioles[tiny air tubes], Alveolar ducts & alveoli... (all microscopic Structure)

The conducting zone are organs that conduit for air to reach  the gas exchange sites..{lung tissue} and also cleanse, humidify and warm incoming air…so, these organs are include * Nose {*N/cavity, Paranasal sinuses] pharynx, larynx, trachea..the bronchi and their smallest branches….etc…..

The structures of the nose are divided into “the external nose, & the internal nasal cavity…

the surface features of external nose include, *the root [i.e. area between eyebrows] and *dorsum nasi..[i.e. anterior margin terminates in the apex of nose, So inferior to the apex there is a  vertical shallow called *Philtrum.
